About

As you’ve probably guessed by now, my name is Patricia and this blog is an outlet for me to express personal opinions and share thoughts on a variety of subjects I’m interested in. I’ve been working in the internet industry since 1995, blogging since 2002, writing since I learned how to put words together to express an idea.
I’m originally from Brazil, but have been living in the US since 2008. I’m married to a US Air Force service member, which, naturally, makes me a military wife.
Working in this industry is one of my biggest passions. Being self employed is a lifestyle I chose back in 2001 after working for the biggest Brazilian web development firms as a Project Manager for 7 years. I work from home running a few online projects with a business partner. I love what I do, it allows me to explore a diversity of skills and interests.
Like many of us working in this industry, I deal with all aspects of the business – from technical to design and content. It’s all fun, but writing and editing content in different formats is what drives me the most.
I have projects both in English and Portuguese (my native language). So depending on whom you ask, some people know me for the Brazilian version of the Day Zero Project, other people know me as the designer of the award winning Connections theme for WordPress, or for ”1001 Dicas Praticas“, a blog on practical tips with a recently launched version in English called All Hot Tips.
So these are some of the other places where you can learn more about me, as well as through the links below. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Patricia,

Infact I was also toying with an idea of setting up a website and a blog for myself and thats how I ended up starting http://www.rohitgambhir.com
If you want to be connected with me add me as connection in LinkedIn http://www.linkedIN.com/in/rohitgambhir

Wow, six blogs going? I feel like a total slacker now — I don’t even really keep one up, though it’s mostly because I can never completely make up my mind as to what I really want to blog about. I suppose I could take the route of putting up several, but then that leaves me with my earlier statement — I’m a bit of a slacker. And I’m certainly not capable of keeping a blog up in a language other than English, though I imagine it would do wonders for my French or Russian if I would. And though this site hasn’t yet been developed, I would imagine, based on reading your others, and seeing the design you’ve already got started, that this will be worth reading as well. Have you given any thought yet to what your focus will be?
I think you’re a genius! I have two blogs right now but with my two jobs I hardly have time to update my blogs. How do you maintain a steady flow of ideas for you blogs? Where do you get the inspiration?
I’m very particular with originality. So, I always make sure that I’d rather write nothing than copy and paste.
My wife’s name is also patricia muller and she lives in south africa
Patricia … First off ‘Thank You’ for your part in designing ‘Connections’, I’ve used it for many blog design starters. Great design on both your and Sadish’s account!
But the main reason for this comment comes from the final word in your ‘bio’: synesthete.
I was remotely familiar with the word – I could remember hearing of it – but was not at all totally sure of it’s meaning. I took the link to Wikipedia and read it. Amazing!
I have known a couple of people who are also synesthetic – but who didn’t refer to themselves with that word. They called themselves ‘color sensitive’. So, I guess they were.
Neither were artists. One was a math whiz and the other was a physicist.
For me, MATH is a 4-letter word! You know, in the category of the 4-letter words mom said ‘never to say’! “. ) As for physics, I understand the principles and theory, but forget the proofing: that’s, again, MATH! “. )
I worked with both of these people while working at the University of Kentucky (in the ’70s). Both were very accomplished professors in their fields. After reading about Synesthesia, I am not surprised! Truly amazing.
If it’s not too prying, I would be very interested in hearing as to how your synesthesia helps you … or not.
Thank you again for your efforts on Connections and best of success (continued!) on your professional efforts…

PS… for a note of interest, I ‘happend upon’ your bio while working on the transfer of a blog (one of many!) using the Free WordPress ‘souped up version’ of 1.0 Connections, called, Beyond The Ripples, to a Hosted WordPress account w/regular Connections 1.0; I was hoping V2 was ready.. ?? The tag line for Beyond The Ripples is, “… serendipitous encounters from eclectic online journeys.” Once again BTR uncovers, totally by chance, another fascinating piece of information. “. )

Happy New Year!
Wow, that’s funny! I was looking for the weblogtoolscollection link earlier this morning but didn’t find it in my bookmarks.
Afterwards I browsed through wordpress.org’s themes galery and somehow managed to get to your side – and guess what? I found the link to the weblogtoolscollection in your blogroll.
That’s a funny issue at least to me.
Have a nice day and greetings from Germany,
René
Hi Patricia!
I came across your websites trough a link and I am só impressed by your work! And so happy that I can learn so much from you, just by surfing your blogs. I think it is wonderful what you do, everything just looks very professional but not at all stand-offish
Keep up the great work! Best wishes, x Martine
